The mental process a woman goes through is not “will it be mentally taxing or too intellectually rigorous”. It’s “will the audience judge me adversely or negatively if I give an honest, forthright response”. It’s “will the audience draw negative conclusions about me”. It’s “will the audience think I’m a bitch, or stupid, or shallow”. 8 jeremy says: January 13, 2015 at 1:20 pm @deti #7 It’s not even that. It’s all happening on a subconscious level, not a conscious one. If a woman’s (or man’s) personality is such that they internalize externally-derived values, such a person will automatically substitute the values of others for their own. Yes, they are definitely worried about being judged, but even so they don’t deliberately lie. Instead they lie to themselves. They are their own harshest critic – judging themselves through their lens of societal values. Thus, although their statements don’t reflect their true preferences, they have no idea that this is the case. If they became consciously aware that their innate desires conflicted with their externally-derived values, they would have no choice but to judge themselves as “bad people” instead of normal people with normal desires. 9 deti says: January 13, 2015 at 1:45 pm I’ve seen Novaseeker explain this elsewhere, and it seems relevant to put it here. One of the effects of the SMP and the emphasis on “science” and “research” and “studies” as presenting “what women really want” in men is that men just don’t have any idea what women find sexually attractive.
